ISLAMABAD: Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said on Friday that in this difficult time to counter the deadly coronavirus outbreak Pakistan would stand by China, reported media sources.
The chairman of the senate maintained that China is Pakistan’s all-season mate, and has always helped us. It is now our turn to help our neighbor, and if possible, Pakistani experts will support China, he noted.
Senator Sherry Rehman addressed the Senate session and said that coronavirus is a challenge for humans and that China has taken immediate action against the outbreak. Pakistan should support China and import tester kits for coronavirus immediately.
The PPP leader added further that a country’s primary responsibility is to protect its own people first, and the Pakistan Embassy helpline in China is not working.
Sherry Rehman said other countries were evacuating their Chinese citizens. Our government has not introduced the screening systems at airports, she remarked.
PTI Senator Mohsin Aziz said that the Chinese should not leave Pakistani students feeling helpless. Those affected should be kept in wards of isolation whereas those who are healthy should be allowed back to Pakistan, he said.
Senator Semi Ezdi said the move taken by the government obviously looks tough but the students in China should receive better treatment. We can not provide choronavirus-affected patients with medical care however, China will discover their diagnosis.
