Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to cooperate in IT field

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to undertake joint efforts for promotion of cooperation in the field of information technology.
The understanding came during a telephonic conversation between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Saudi Arabian Minister for Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha.
Both the ministers especially deliberated on cooperation in the digital field.
On Oct 22, Pakistan had categorically rejected a false media report on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
Responding to media queries regarding role of Saudi Arabia in assessment of Pakistan’s FATF Action Plan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri had rejected the story circulating in a segment of the media as false and baseless.
He had said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed strong fraternal ties and the two countries had always cooperated with each other on all matters of bilateral, regional and international importance.
