KARACHI: Pakistan Navy has released a special documentary on Hangor Day, the day when a Pakistani submarine sunk Indian warship Khukri with a single torpedo within Indian waters in 1971.
The documentary highlights achievements of PNS Hangor. Pakistan Navy Submarine Hangor sunk Indian Navy Ship Khukri and crippled INS Kirpan in 1971 war, the only engagements by any “Conventional Submarine” since World War-II.
“We were not thinking that what would happen to us. We were just thinking about how to tfind the enemy and carry out action against him,” said late the then navigation officer of PNS Hangor, Admiral Fasih, in a statement.
On this marvelous achievement, vigrous crew of the submarine attained numerous gallantry awards including four Sitare-e-Jurrat, six Tamgha-e-Jurrat and 16 Letters of Commendation.
The documentary released by Pak Navy has paid tribute to the silent warriors.
