Pakistan demands investigation into recovery of 7 kg uranium in India
Pakistan has demanded thorough investigation into the incident of recovery of seven kilogram natural uranium from unauthorized persons in India.
In a statement, Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that security of nuclear materials should be the top priority for all countries.
“We have noted with serious concern reports about seizure of more than 7 Kg natural uranium from unauthorised persons in India. Security of nuclear materials should be the top priority for all countries, and there is a need for thorough investigation of the matter,” he tweeted.
A couple of days ago two men were arrested by Anti-Terrorism Squad in India with natural uranium worth Rs43.268 crore. Uranium is a highly radioactive and rare element which is used for making nuclear explosives.
