Pakistan decides to re-open schools from August 2 amid rising rate of covid-19
Pakistan has decided not to extend the summer vacations and the schools will be re-opening from August 2.
The Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, chaired a meeting regarding schools re-opening covid-19 on Wednesday (today).
During the meeting, the Punjab government, initially recommended to extend summer vacations by August 15.
However, the decision got rejected. and schools have been advised to take all precautionary measures and ensure SOP implementation.
Moreover, the examinations of class ninth and matric will be held as per the schedule.
The meeting has given the power to provinces that they can make the decision through keeping in view the covid-19 positivity ratio.
The meeting was attended by all provincial education ministers, including Gilgit-Baltistan’s minister.
