ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to import 180,000 metric tonnes of wheat from Russia at the government level.
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) met under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. The ECC has approved the import of 180,000 metric tonnes of wheat from Russia.
This wheat will be imported from the Russian government. The ECC also approved a local sales tax exemption on the import of 300,000 metric tonnes of sugar.
Briefing ECC on wheat and sugar imports, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research said that Pakistan would import 180,000 metric tonnes of wheat from Russia on a G2G basis.
