Pakistan decides to book Corona vaccine in advance

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to book corona vaccination in advance.

Dr. Noshin Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Health, has confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the advance booking of corona vaccine.

According to Dr. Noshin Hamid, contacts are being made globally for advance booking of Corona vaccine and contacts have been made with two vaccine manufacturers.

He said that the government was taking steps to ensure timely availability of the expected vaccine in the country and hoped that Pakistan would succeed in booking the Corona vaccine in advance.

He said that the Ministry of Health had suggested booking of corona vaccine for 10 million citizens. It was proposed to allocate 100 million dollars for vaccine bookings.

In the first phase, the Ministry of Health had proposed booking of vaccines for health workers and vulnerable citizens.

At present, the total number of people infected with the corona virus in Pakistan is 361,082 and the death toll has reached 7,193. The rate of corona positive cases is very high in 15 major cities of the country
