Pakistan Day to be celebrated virtually due to covid-19

The Pakistan Day celebration on March 23 (today) will mostly be held virtually across the country by various public and private offices due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pakistan Day parade, which has been the fundamental component of the celebration, will not be held on March 23 because of the rainy season in Islamabad. It will be held on Mar 25 now, in compliance with the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The day will dawn with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals. It will be a public holiday.
Special prayers will be offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country.
The national flag will be hoisted on major government buildings, which will also be decorated with lightings and buntings. Flag hoisting event will likewise be held at various strategic missions of Pakistan abroad.
Moreover, the Pakistan National Council of Arts will also hold a ‘Youm-e-Pakistan’ children show on March 23, featuring national songs and speeches highlighting the significance of the day and freedom movement.
