Pakistan has clinched one gold, one silver and a bronze medal in the debutant Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship-2021 held in Kyrgyzstan.
Pakistani Mixed Martial Arts Athletes team members won these medals. Shahzaib Khan won gold, Liaqat Ali bagged silver medal and Allah Gul Afridi got bronze medal in the championship.
The President Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation Zulfiqar Ali said that PMMAF would continue its path to success and would try hard to ensure maximum participation in all events in the future.
He said the World MMA Championship 2021 was also expected to be held in December the following year.
15-year-old Pakistani player Syed Imaad Ali had become winner of the World Youth Scrabble Championship by winning the final match held in Karachi, local media had reported on August 22.
Hasham Hadi Khan and Imaad were the two Pakistanis among 10 players to qualify for the finals. Imaad had created history by becoming the first player to bag the World English Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) Youth Cup for the second consecutive time. He also holds the record of the most scrabble championship titles by any youngster in the world with seven victories.
Hasham stood fourth, while India’s Madhav Gopal Kamath finished as the runner-up. Gopal is the first Indian to finish among the top three in any youth scrabble championship. The third spot was clinched by Thailand’s Napat Vatjanurathorn.
Bilal Asher was the 2nd runner-up of the under-10 age category.
