Pakistan claim 2nd spot in CWCSL after winning ODI series

After winning three-match One Day International (ODI) series against South Africa by 2-1, Pakistan have claimed second position in Cricket World Cup Super League (CWSL), International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday.
Pakistan won the third and final match of the series by 28 runs on Wednesday to become the only Asian cricketing nation to claim an ODI series twice against the South African hosts (second in the world after Australia).
Pakistani captain Babar Azam was declared the Player of the Match while opening batsman Fakhar Zaman bagged the Player of the Series title.
Zaman scored 302 runs in the series while smashing two tons with the highest score of 193.

Meanwhile, after achieving Wednesday’s milestone, Pakistan have jumped to second position in ICC Men’s CWCSL standings with six points, now competing England (9 points) for top position.
The CWCSL is the first ICC ODI league scheduled from 2020-23. It has been introduced for ICC World Cup 2023 qualification process.
