The Pakistan Bar Council has called for the removal of Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem from the cabinet.
The PBC had urged the Supreme Court to contempt court note of former attorney-general Anwar Mansoor Khan’s remarks and include Naseem in the notice. Khan has apologized and resigned but the council also needs action against Naseem.
In a statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the council had to withdraw Naseem from the cabinet in the interests of the country and a democratic Parliament.

The Premier must immediately take this step, and read the statement. Naseem was behind the “conspiracies against the judiciary,” it alleged.
It also called for a high-powered judicial commission to investigate the judicial conspiracies. The former attorney general had said the statement he made in court was in line with the position of the government, the statement read.
