Pakistan and China decided to further enhance their defence ties on Monday through signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Minister of National Defence of China, General Wei Fenghe met with Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters.
The Chinese Minister praised Pakistan Army for its role in keeping the regional peace. COAS also thanked the visiting dignitary for supporting Pakistan’s stance on key issues.
“We have been standing together all along and our relations will be no different in view of future challenges,” the COAS said.
The two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. A MoU was also signed between the two countries for strengthening defence cooperation.
Chinese Minister of National Defence also paid respect at Yadgar-i-Shuhada while Pakistan Army also presented the guard of honour to the foreign official.
