ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China on Thursday signed an agreement worth 100 million dollars for the repairing of National Highway-5.
The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at the Economic Affairs Division building in Islamabad.
The ceremony was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Khusro Bukhtiar and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong.
Moreover, 66 kilometers in four parts of the National Highway between Hala, district Matiari, and Moro, district Naushahro Feroze, will be repaired.
According to the minister of Economic Affairs, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, the road’s renovation will increase the contact with north-south parts and further. He thanked China for supporting Pakistan amid Covid-19.
Moreover, the socio-economic support will continue in future as well, said the Chinese ambassador.
