RAWALPINDI: A Havaldar of Pakistan Army was martyred on Wednesday in across the border firing from Afghanistan.

Media wing of armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that terrorists fired from across the border on Pakistan Army’s post along the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur.

“Resultantly, Havaldar Tanveer embraces shahadat while another soldier got wounded,” it said.

On Sept 29, Indian troops had opened fire across the Line of Control leaving one Pakistan Army soldier and a civilian martyred in Azad Kashmir.

The ISPR had said that the Indian troops opened unprovoked fire along Tander sector and deliberately targeted civilian population. A 15-year-old boy was martyred and four other people, including one 80 years old man, got injured as a result of the Indian firing.
