PAC decides to revoke free Hajj facility for VIPs, Khuddam

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly has decided to revoke the free Hajj facility for VIPs, Khuddam, ministers and bureaucrats.
Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Noor Alam Khan said in a media talk that the Pakistan is a debt-ridden country and such facilities are a burden on the national exchequer.
“Even, the prime minister, ministers and any political figure cannot perform Hajj free of cost,” he added.
Meanwhile, the committee sought details of those who had been performing free hajj within 15 days from the concerned ministry and the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).
Alam vowed to recover the amount from the families of those government officers who performed free Hajj.
“Recovered money will be deposited in the national exchequer,” he added.
