KARACHI: A young girl of Karachi, who was orphaned when she was too young, has filed a contempt of court case against the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) for refusing to provide her a birth certificate despite the Sindh High Court’s order.
The high court had ordered on Dec 23 to issue her a B-form, however no progress could so far be made in her case.
She is a grade nine student in FB Area and works as a maid at different houses there. Whereas, she does not have a permanent residence as she keeps changing her place from one relative to another.
She was only three months old when her father passed away, while her mother expired when she was three years old.
Counsel of the girl, Usman Farooq said that his client went to the NADRA office, however they refused to issue her an identity card asking her to bring her parents.
