LAHORE: Orange Line Metro will hit rails today (December 10) for its trial run.
According to details, the route has been ornamented with flowerpots. The plan has been finalized for the test run. The OMLT will run from Dera Gujran at 2pm to Stabling Yard near Ali Town. During the test run, the train speed will be kept around 40 to 50 kmph. The train will cover 27.1 km in 45 minutes.
Guests chosen for the test ride have been instructed to reach Dera Gujran. The main event will be celebrated in Ali Town around 2:50 pm.
All metro stations will be shut down during the test run. The special protection unit will also be present for security measure.
Meanwhile, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is busy cleaning the train route. Garbage in the suburbs adjacent to the metro station has been cleaned with the use of a dumper.
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) workers are also carrying out their duties.
