Opposition’s allegations of rigging in Gilgit-Baltistan elections are baseless: Chief Election Commissioner

Gilgit-Baltistan: The Chief Election Commissioner has directed to end the election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan tonight at 12 noon.

Chief Election Commissioner says election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan will end tonight at 12 noon and legal action will be taken in case of violation of rules.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that the allegations of fraud by the leaders of the opposition parties were baseless and it was unreasonable to make such allegations in advance.

On the other hand, elections in Gilgit-Baltistan are in full swing. 15,900 personnel will be deployed for election security.

Voting will take place in 23 constituencies on November 15. 1160 polling stations and 847 polling booths have been set up in which 418 highly sensitive, 311 sensitive and 431 polling stations have been declared normal.
