LAHORE: The opposition parties are holding meeting one after another to devise a strategy to launch an anti-government movement immediately after Eid ul Adha.
For this purpose, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Zardari first met with Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman at a hotel in Lahore then he headed towards Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s residence to discuss the upcoming ‘All Parties Conference’.
Fazl and Bilawal discussed political situation of the country as well as mulled over the struggle against the ‘incompetent’ government. PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor and JUI-F leaders Maulana Amjad Khan, Haji Manzoor Afridi and Bilal Mir were also present on this occasion.
Bilawal said the APC would decided about the midterm elections to oust the government. He said they wanted to address the challenges faced by the nation as soon as possible.
“Whatever we talked about today, its results will begin to appear after Eid,” he said.
It may be noted that the opposition parties also want the government to abolish the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), while the government says that the core of their party agenda is accountability, therefore it is not possible for them.
On Jul 20, leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League- N (PML-N) had said that the opposition had decided to constitute joint committee against the government.
Following a meeting, the PPP and PML-N leaders had said this in a press conference at Bilawal House in Lahore. The meeting was invited by PPP Chairperson Bilawal Zardari.
PPP stalwart Qamar Zaman Kaira had said that the committee included PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Asif and Marriyum Aurangzaib. He had said coordination of the opposition was going on for quite a long time.
