Opium being cultivated at educational centre during lockdown

LAKKI MARWAT: Opium, an addictive narcotic extracted from seed capsules of the opium poppy, is being cultivated at an educational centre during lockdown in Lakkir Marwat.

The opium is being cultivated in large quantity at plant nurseries of Govt Shaheed Behram Ahmed Khan Higher Secondary School. This activity at the school has raised eyebrows of the masses. It has sent shockwaves as on one hand the district administration boasts of destroying opium in merged areas, while on the flip side opium is being planted at educational institute.
