OPDs to remain suspended across Sindh, Punjab till further orders

KARACHI: The Young Doctors’ Association has announced that Out Patient Department (OPD) at hospitals across Punjab and Sindh will remain suspended till further orders to cater to the need of coronavirus patients.
A General Council YDA Punjab meeting was held in Faisalabad on March 16, and all GC presidents showed serious concerns regarding recent pandemic Coronavirus attack in Pakistan.
“YDA Punjab will observe suspension of the OPD services and all sorts of elective services from hospitals all over Punjab just to avoid rapid spread of coronavirus Infections.
“Young Doctors are committed to serve the patients and we will continue working in emergency services with personal protective measures,” they said.

YDA Sindh said doctors would perform emergency duties at quarantine units established at the public hospitals across the province. “General OPD will remain suspended from tomorrow onwards,” Young Doctors said adding that those visiting OPDs were at high risk of contracting the contagious disease.
The step had been taken viewing the developing situation, they said. They said they would fully cooperate with the Sindh government to combat coronavirus. They also asked the citizens to stay calm.
“Those having normal flu, cough and cold should prefer to stay at homes. Use more fresh fruits and soup. If the condition grows worse then immediately report at quarantine centre of a public hospital,” they maintained.
