Management of online taxi services has demanded that the Sindh Government allow them to resume operations as the lockdown due to the coronavirus eases.
In a letter to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, management of online cab-hailing services promised drivers should adhere to safety regulations. They will wear masks and gloves, they said, and use sanitizers.
“Only one person will be allowed to travel in a taxi at a time,” the letter stated, adding that a maximum of two people will be accommodated in emergency situations.
“The car will be disinfected after every ride,” it added.
The management said drivers and other service workers were suffering because of the shutdown.
Taxi services in Sindh have been suspended since the last week of March, due to the lockdown. Public transit was also shut down.
