One killed, 15 wounded in Rawalpindi blast

A man has been killed and 15 others injured in an IED blast in the Saddar region of Rawalpindi, police said Friday.

The Rawalpindi CCPO and other police officials immediately arrived at the spot along with the bomb disposal squad.

According to the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner, the body and the wounded persons were moved to DHQ and Cantonment General hospitals.

Initial investigations revealed that explosives were planted on an electricity pole, a police spokesperson told a media source.

Police authorities have said they are investigating the incident further.
