One killed, 14 injured in hand grenade blast in Quetta

At least one person was killed and 14 others were injured as a result of a grenade blast in Quetta on Thursday night.
The blast took place on Thursday night at the Joint Road intersection near Raisani Road.
Unidentified motorcyclists hurled grenades at stalls selling national flags and other decorations for Independence Day on August 14. The grenade exploded near the stall, killed one person and injured 14 others, police said.
After the incident, the assailants fled from the spot, police and Frontier Corps officials reached the spot and shifted the dead body and the injured to a nearby hospital.
Quetta Civil Hospital spokesperson Dr Waseem Baig confirmed that, one dead body and 14 injured were brought to the hospital.
The person killed in the grenade attack has been identified as Surat Khan, SP City Shaukat Janjua said that Mr. Khan was buying the national flag when the blast occurred while most of the injured were vendors selling goods at the stall.
