The Hub Dam, which supplies water to Karachi, has now stored water for a year and a half. A spokesman for the Water Board said that due to rains in the area, the level of the dam has increased by 6 feet and more water is continuing to flow.
According to the spokesperson of the Water and Sewerage Board, due to heavy rains in the catchment area of Hub Dam, the water level in Hub Dam has been steadily rising and water storage has reached an encouraging level.
The spokesman said that so far the level of Hub Dam has increased by more than 6 feet, more water is flowing into the dam and water has been stored in the dam for the next one and half years.
The spokesman added that the recent increase would improve water supply to Karachi, especially to District West.
The fourth spell of monsoon rains has been continuing in Karachi since Thursday.
