On this Day: Pakistan U-19 team led by Sarfaraz won the World Cup in 2006
On 19 February, 2006, Pakistan Under-19 national Cricket team won the ICC World Cup by defeating India in a low-scoring final match.
Pakistani cricketer and former Captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, was leading the team at that time.
In the Final match Pakistan elected to bat first but bowled out for 109 runs. In the second innings, the Green Shirts restricted the Indian side at 71 runs winning the game by 38 runs. Paceman Anwar Ali was declared the player of the match as he took five wickets in the match.
