On Quaid’s birthday Karachi opens doors to its first street library

Today marks the 143rd birthday of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah celebrated with utmost zeal and fervor all across the country. The day begun with celebrations at the Leader’s mausoleum in Karachi followed by the opening of the first street library of Pakistan at Main Metropole.
The project is an initiative of Karachi’s Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani whose aim is to increase reading habits in the citizens of the country.
The street library not only offer books to those interested attracted to readers form and all around Karachi, the library also features sculpted artwork of historic buildings of Pakistan.
