Old school building ‘walks’ to new location in China

You would have never heard of a building going for a walk not even in your wildest dream. However with advanced technology it is no more impossible.
Yes, a building in China was relocated to a new place in walking style to make way for Shanghai’s new commercial centre.
Usually such a giant building is relocated using slide rails or flatbeds. Nevertheless, 200 jacks were placed under the primary school building, which is 85 years old, because of its irregular shape. It took the team 18 days to relocate the building step by step.
The chief engineer expressed the hope to revitalize the heritage building. “We will transform the building into the integrating cultural education and intangible heritage preservation involving both culture and innovation,” he said.
