Ocean Mall sends Rs 50 crore defamation suit to Aman’s parents and Dialogue Pakistan

Ocean Mall has sent Rs 50 Crore defamation notice to Dialogue Pakistan and the child’s parents who lost his foot after it got stuck in a “faulty” escalator.
On March 20, a tragic incident took place at Ocean Mall, a private shopping mall in Karachi in which a three-year-old boy lost his foot due to it getting stuck in a “faulty” escalator. Dialogue Pakistan, considering its moral responsibility, reported the incident and shared the parents’ grievance with the public, in return to which Ocean Mall has sent an Rs50 crore defamation suit to Dialogue Pakistan and also, the child’s parents.
Aman’s Mother Stance on the incident:
Talking to Dialogue Pakistan, Aman Raza’s mother said that when we finished our shopping, child insisted us to take him at Bounce. We were going from the second floor to the third floor when the child’s foot got stuck in the escalator.
The mother added that we kept calling the administration but no one came to help even the escalator buttons were non-operational and there were no medical aid arrangements.
Mother told Dialogue Pakistan that the condition of the child was so critical, no painkiller was giving him ease. The child was suffering from pain, barely slept for 15 to 20 minutes.
“Bury your children in your homes, because if you go out, you can have such accidents with them.” She added.
Expressing her grief, mother of the child told Dialogue Pakistan that she still has the child’s shoe which has blood on it and she cries when sees it. “Can Ocean Mall give me back my baby’s leg? She added.
Mother of the child affected by the negligence of Ocean Mall has appealed to the government that if these malls cannot be brought up to international standards then at least they should be checked and balanced on humanity grounds so that in future no Aman Raza lost his foot.
Netizens demand Ban on Ocean Mall:
On the other hand, there is a severe public outrage over the incident. As soon as the video of Dialogue Pakistan went viral, a trend called #BanOceanMall was rounding on various social media platforms. The people are demanding from authorities to take action against the management of Ocean Mall and punish those responsible severely, and strictly enforce the law to prevent such incidents in future.
