A leading Indian military think tank based in New Delhi has revealed that the incidents of suicide, friendly fire have grown in Indian army over the past two decades, as about 50 percent of the army personnel are presumably under severe mental stress.
A research report of the Kashmir Media Service has relayed that 486 Indian army personnel and police officials had committed suicide in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since January 2007.
Meanwhile, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Kupwara and Shopian districts, subjecting the residents to huge inconvenience amid severe cold.
