The death anniversary of legendary singer, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, is being observed on Monday (today).
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan left the world at the age of 48 on 16 August 1997.
Khan was under treatment due to liver and kidney problems but, a sudden cardiac arrest led towards his death.
His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered in Faislabad and was buried in Kabootran Wala Qabristan also known as Jhang Road Graveyard.
Born on 13 October, 1948, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was known as “Shahenshah-e-Qawwali”.
He received the President of Pakistan’s Award for Pride of Performance, the UNESCO Music Prize and Grand Prix des Amériques at Montreal World Film Festival.
Moreover, NFAK received Guinness World Record for recording over 125 qawwali albums.
