Number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan surges to 14,885, death toll to 327

ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has soared to 14,885 and death toll to 327 on Wednesday.
According to National Command and Operation Center, the infection cases include 5,827 cases in Punjab, 5,291 in Sindh, 2,160 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 915 in Balochistan, 330 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 297 in Islamabad Capital Territory and 65 in Azad Kashmir.
3425 patients have so far been recovered while 85 are currently in critical condition.

The Federal Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Assistance Package for health worker embracing martyrdom due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision was taken at federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
Under the package, any healthcare worker, who dies while performing duties related to COVID-19 shall be entitled to the same package as is applicable to the government servants in cases of security-related deaths contained in the Shuhada Package.
The package will be applicable in the domain of Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
