Islamabad has been named one of the safest cities in the world by an international Numbeo organisation.
The report was released following a study in 371 cities around the world.
Ranking Islamabad is far higher than Sydney, Bangkok, Berlin, Moscow, London, Paris and Shanghai.
Similar to other major cities in the world, London, Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Sydney and Shanghai, the ranking of the capital is now much increased, to name a few from the list of 374 surveyed cities.
The crime rate has also dropped by 4 per cent, making it safer. Islamabad Police Inspector General Mohammad Aamir Zulfiqar, while commenting on the ranking, said the reduction in crime rate was a product of the capital’s effective strategy.
He also added, “Effective action is being ensured against criminal and anti-social elements.”
