Nuclear scientist debunks Nawaz Sharif’s claims that Pakistan reverse engineered US missile
Pakistani nuclear physicist Dr Samar Mubarakmand has dismissed claim of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif that Pakistan reverse engineered a missile, fired by the United States into Balochistan, to make the Babur cruise missile.
The Pakistani nuclear scientist said that a cruise missile was extremely sensitive weapon, so it was impossible for it to land on ground in intact form. He said the missile that Pakistan found was exploded in Balochistan and was in small pieces. “It was a useless pile of trash,” he said.
Talking to media in London, Nawaz Sharif had claimed that the then US president Bill Clinton dropped missiles in Afghanistan in 1998 and one Tomahawk missile was dropped in Balochistan. Pakistan found it intact and reverse engineered it.
The Pakistan Muslim League-N supremo had said that he had vast contributions for the armed forces. He had claimed that he got half of the missiles, that Pakistan possessed, made and spent billions and trillions to develop the nuclear technology and JF-17 fighter jet.
On Oct 1, Nawaz had said the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government had ruined Pakistan.
“Nobody should try to shut me up because I will not stop speaking. We have no competition with Imran Khan, we do not consider him a rival neither we give him any importance,” Nawaz Sharif had said while addressing the meeting of Central Working Committee of the PML-N through a video link from London.
