Nowshera: Three rape cases reported in five days

NOWSHERA: At least three rape cases have been reported in five days in Nowshera.
According to the fresh case, a nine-year-old boy was subjected to gang-rape in Mamrez area of Nowshera within limits of Pabbi police station. District Police Officer Kashif Zulfiqar said the culprit had been arrested. “All the four suspects involved in this crime are underage,” he said.
He claimed that the suspects involved in all three cases had been arrested. Last night, a 10-year-old child was allegedly subjected to physical abuse in Kallan.

On Jan 19, dead body of the minor girl, who had gone missing, had been recovered from near her house in Nowshera.
Body of Hooz Noor, 8, was recovered from a ruin-like building. Police had said she was strangled to death after being raped. The body had been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police had said father of the girl, Amjad Ali, lived abroad.
On Jan 22, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa haD formed a special prosecution team at the provincial level for investigation into the case of child rape-slay in Nowshera.
The prosecution team, police and lawyers of the victim girl would jointly work on the case, this was decided in a high level meeting chaired by the chief minister.
KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had contacted the KP assembly speaker in this regard and asked him to immediately activate the Special Committee for Child Protection. Mahmood Khan had directed the committee to finalise recommendations and draft of a law in one month regarding giving strict punishment to the perpetrator of rape and slay of children.
The committee should also give recommendations on the watch list about criminals of children’s rape and slay, he had said.
The KP chief minister had directed to start working on construction of a comprehensive forensic laboratory in the province. He was briefed that the Punjab forensic lab would provide the report about the Nowshera incident in one week.
