“Now he is Prime Minister and I am banned again”, says Hamid Mir
The senior Journalist Hamid Mir revealed while talking to a media channel that he and Imran Khan stood together to fight for the freedom of press.
He continued with that he was banned in 2007 and Imran Khan supported him. Imran Khan used to be a guest when Hamid took his political show on streets.
“When I become prime minister, journalists will have true press freedom.” said Imran khan to Hamid Mir.
“Now I have been taken off the air once again, but this time Khan is the prime minister. “
On Twitter Hamid Mir again stated “when I was banned in 2007 he stood by me. Now he is Prime Minister and I am banned again.”
The ban came immediately after he poke out at a protest for press freedom in Islamabad.
Earlier, on 31 May, Hamid Mir was banned from hosting his show ‘Capital Talk’ anymore, according to news sources.
The decision has been taken as he was accused of making remarks against the Army in the recent protest staged by the senior journalists at Islamabad’s National Press Club.
While talking to media, Hamid Mir openly threatened the Army and said that he will reveal family stories of the forces and pointed out their women.
According to public, allegations made by Hamid Mir are of extremely serious nature, he should provide evidences of every claim he has made. No one shall be given the power to come and malign the institutes who sacrifice their today for our future.
