Notices issued to 95 people including Bilawal for violating election rules in Gilgit-Baltistan
ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shehbaz said that notices were issued to those 95 people of different parties who violated election rules including Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Bilawal is currently busy in election campaign in GB. Under the Election Act, he may be fined up to Rs50,000 for the violation or such continuous violations can lead to his disqualification.
“Bilawal is violating election rules in GB. Notices have been issued against his party as well,” said Raja Shehbaz while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
He said a storm in a teacup was being kicked up about rigging. They should identify where election was being rigged, he said adding that the environment in GB was peaceful and wherever you found any problem you must identify it. He said the ROs sitting in 24 constituencies can’t see any rigging.
The GB election commissioner said that 7,045,362 voters were registered with them and fair election will be held in GB. Code of conduct was formulated viewing coronavirus SoPs, he maintained.
He said police and GB scouts will perform duties during election, while army will have no involvement.
