KARACHI: The additional district and session judge has issued non-bailable arrest warrant for the prime suspect in anchor Mureed Abbas murder case in Karachi.

The jail officials presented the suspect Atif Zaman before the court, while the complainant Zara Abbas Khar appeared with her lawyer. A key suspect in the case and brother of Atif, Adil Zaman are on the run.

The investigation officer apprised the court that Atif Zaman had fled to escape arrest after his bail was rejected. The judge directed police to arrest Adil Zaman at any cost and present him before it on Oct 10. The court issued a notice to Adil Zaman’s guarantor.

This may be noted that indictment could not be made in the case despite passage of one year to the murder. Adil and Atif had allegedly shot dead two people including Mureed Abbas in Defence area of Karachi.

On Sept 10, the Supreme Court had rejected bail of the suspect Adil Zaman and sent him back to jail.
