No woman gets elected in Kuwaiti general elections
2020 Kuwaiti General election results were announced on Sunday. Out of 50 seats for Kuwait’s unicameral parliament, not a single seat was won by a woman.
Elections were held under the strict observation of SOPs due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Kuwait is a semi-democratic state which is co-governed by premier appointed by Emir, and elected representatives.
Kuwait adopted a Parliamentary system in 1962 but political parties are banned in the country.
