ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Wednesday said that no side effect of COVID-19 vaccine had surfaced in Pakistan.
“So far, the experience of coronavirus vaccine has been extremely safe in the country. So, all the Pakistanis are requested to get themselves vaccinated. We have witnessed horrific situation in Europe and our region as well. 4,500 patients are still being treated at different hospitals across the country,” he said while addressing media in Islamabad.
Asad Umar said that the government wanted to carry out vaccination at a massive scale as through it restrictions could be lifted and normal routine resumed.
“Alhamdulillah, we have abundance of vaccine doses available and more are coming in the country,” he said.
He requested all the legislators to encourage people to get themselves vaccinated. Regardless of the fact that who was providing the vaccines, political leaders of different parties should own the vaccination campaign, he maintained.
To a query, the federal minister said that if anybody doubted that there was a difference in the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and Prime Minister Imran Khan then he did not know dynamics of Pakistani politics.
