The Sindh’s Minister for Education and Labour Saeed Ghani has said that educational institutions in Sindh will remain open as the COVID-19 situation is under control.

While talking to a private news channel on Wednesday, the provincial minister says that the situation of the coronavirus is not dangerous and the cases are under control in the province as compared to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier on Wednesday (today), the federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood has announced that educational institutes will remain closed till Apr 11 in specific districts of Punjab and KP, including Islamabad.

“If smart lockdown is enforced in any particular area then schools will not be allowed to open in that particular area,” Ghani adds, but according to him so far no such restrictions have been imposed on schools.

Responding to a question about exams, Ghani says that exams will be taken as per the schedule until further notice.
