No hugs, kisses to be allowed this Eid, says Firdous Ashiq Awan

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has appealed to the people to strictly observe Corona Standard Operation Procedures during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

Firdous Ashiq Awan urged the people to act like civilized citizens in implementation of COVID SOPs as it was the matter of lives. She said smart lockdown was the only option to get rid of the pandemic as the nation could not afford complete lockdown. She warned public to not go for public gatherings and conventional parties during Eid holidays.

“No politician will hold Eid Milan parties across Punjab. Eid gatherings and parties will not be allowed across the province. Neither traditional hugs nor kisses will be allowed this Eid,” she said.

The special assistant said the Punjab government was striving for controlling inflation. She said, “In this regard we are taking every possible step against the Mafias and hoarders.”

She said measures were in place for smooth supply of essential commodities in Special Ramzan Bazaars.
