ISLAMABAD: At least nine different areas have been sealed in Islamabad after surge in coronavirus cases.
“After confirmation of COVID-19 results through line list of the National Institute of Health and after input and analysis by Epidemiologists of Deputy Commissioner COVID Nerve Centre along with deliberations with the health departments and in exercise of powers conferred under Epidemic Disease Act, 1958 and to prevent community spread of coronavirus, nine areas have been sealed in larger public interest with immediate effect until further orders,” read a notification issued by Office of The District Magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory.
The sealed areas are as follows:
- Hawai Tech, Saudi Pak Tower, Blue Area
- Pakistan Sport Board
- Gulrajgan, Chatha Bakhtawar
- Street No 13-C, National Police Foundation, E-11/4
- Main Stree No 26, Sub Street-110, I-10/4
- Street No 111, G-9/4
- Street No 54, G-7/2
- Block No 6, PWD Colony
- Street No 62, G-6/4
The magistrate office has requested Islamabad Police, Rangers and Pakistan Army to cordon off the above mentioned areas to ensure public safety.
