DASKA: Nine people were on Saturday arrested in Daska for displaying weapons in public while the polling process is underway in NA-75 constituency.
The spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan said that they were arrested on a complaint about their displaying weapon.
He said that DSP Pindi Bhattian was investigating from the arrested suspects. He also apprised that two rifles, one automated gun and two pistols were recovered from their possession.
The spokesperson said that police and rangers arrested the suspects who belonged to the Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.
The by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-75 (Sialkot-IV), Daska is underway. The polling which started at 08:00 in the morning will continue till 05:00 pm without any break.
The ECP has made all necessary administrative and electoral preparations for holding peaceful, free and transparent elections. There are three hundred sixty polling stations in the constituency.
A close competition is expected between PTI’s candidate Asjad Malhi and PML-N candidate Nosheen Iftikhar.
