RAWALPINDI: Nigar Johar was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general from major general of Pakistan Army on Tuesday.
She has become the first female lieutenant general of the army. She is also a recipient of Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).
“The officer has been appointed as first female surgeon general of Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Nigar Johar hails from Panjpeer, district of Swabi Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said the Inter Services Public Relations in a tweet.
She is currently serving as Commandant Military hospital Rawalpindi.
