NICVD security head, two guards found guilty of sexual harassment

KARACHI: The security incharge and two security guards of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease (NICVD) have been convicted of sexual harassment in Karachi.
Provincial Ombudsman for the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace removed the security head Lt Col (retd) Abdul Latif Dar and the security supervisors Javed Hussain and Mirza Zafar Mahmood after they were found guilty.
Two female employees of the institute had alleged them of harassing and creating hostile environment at the workplace.
The ombudsman has also imposed fine worth Rs0.1 million on the security head and Rs50,000 on the security supervisors. It directed the NICVD’s executive director to deduct the amount from accounts of the culprits and transfer it to its office.
According to LinkedIn profile of Abdul Latif Dar, he has served in Pakistan Army and as a director colleges in Defence Housing Authority.
