MULTAN: Chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement and Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on Tuesday said that next course of actions against the government would be decided in PDM’s Lahore meeting.
“Whatever the decision would be, keeping in view the ground realities, it would be implemented. Our eyes are set on Dec 13 gathering of Lahore now,” Maulana Fazl ur Rehman said while addressing a media briefing in Multan. He was flanked by former prime minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Yousaf Raza Gillani.
To a query, the JUI-F chief said he did not have enough information about fire that erupted near Multan’s public gathering, but it was a sorrowful incident.
“Government’s writ has already been ended. People of Multan also rejected the selected government. We are advancing according to the schedule,” he said.
To another query, he said we should talk about freedom of Palestine. “God knows why the Ummah seems to be so intimidated by Zionists. Why has the Ummah started talking about acknowledging Israel,” he queried saying that Israel was an illegitimate state.
About the Multan gathering, Yousaf Raza Gillani said the PDM workers were jailed and treated badly. No electricity, and water was provided at meeting place, he said.
“I will fully advocate for the arrested workers. Even children were jailed,” he said adding that the PDM supporters took to street in crisis and reached everywhere.
To a query, he said the government ministers thought that coronavirus attacked only the opposition parties’ gatherings.
To another query, Gillani said that Aseefa Zardari participated in the Multan rally after her brother contracted coronavirus, but Bilawal Zardari himself would take part in upcoming Lahore rally.
