Newly elect Speaker declares resignations of PTI lawmakers null and void
Newly elected Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has declared the resignations of PTI lawmakers in National Assembly null and voided.
Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has called for resumption of proceedings on the resignations of PTI lawmakers during the National Assembly session.
He said that the members of PTI should again submit their resignations before me in the National Assembly Secretariat which will be dealt with according to law.
Earlier, Qasim Suri had tweeted on April 14 that the resignations of 123 members of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received by him as the Acting Speaker National Assembly have been accepted under rules and regulations.
In this regard, PTI leader Farrukh Habib said in a message on Twitter that the resignations of 123 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Assembly have been accepted by the Acting Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri and the National Assembly Secretariat has also issued a formal notification.
He said that with the acceptance of resignations, general elections have become inevitable in the country.
