ISLAMABAD: The weather turned pleasant with rain in different parts of Pakistan including the federal capital and Karachi on Tuesday.
Strong winds and rains in Islamabad have broken the spell of heat and sultriness of the last few days, while the weather in Karachi has also turned pleasant with rains. The met department has predicted new series of rains.
Earlier, the meteorological department had forecast rains with strong winds and thundershowers in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure in Central India is increasing towards the west. Under system of new series of rains, rain with thunderstorm is expected in different districts of Sindh for the next three days.
The Meteorological Department also said that the southwest winds in Karachi are blowing at a speed of 18 km per hour, with a humidity of 80%.
Rain with strong winds and thundershowers is also expected in different parts of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Sindh tomorrow while heavy rains are likely in some parts of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab and Kashmir.
A day ago, the highest rainfall of 26 mm was recorded in Mithi area of Sindh and Sialkot area of Punjab while the highest temperature of 45 degree Celsius was recorded in Dadu.
During last spell of rain, at least four people had died due to electrocution as heavy rains lashed Karachi, wreaking havoc on distribution system of the K-Electric.
According to the sources, a man named Sajjid Lodhi, 45-years-old was electrocuted in Chapal Gali Light House. While, a man Yaseen died after receiving electric shock in his house located in Baldia’s Abidabad.
Moreover, 50-year-old Muhammad Sabir was electrocuted in Liaquatabad.
