New rain system arrives, cold snap in Karachi likely to increase again

Karachi: Westerly winds have turned towards Pakistan, the severity of cold is likely to increase.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that the severity of cold may increase in Karachi on February 3 and 4 while strong winds are likely to blow in the next two days.
According to the Meteorological Department, westerly winds will reach Pakistan by tomorrow night. Heavy rain with thunderstorm is also expected in different parts of the country on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Thundershowers are expected in Islamabad, Attock, Chakwal, Gilgit-Baltistan, Swat, Malakand, Peshawar, Charsadda, Kohat, Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhang Khushab and Sahiwal.
Kashmir, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore and Kasur are also likely to receive thundershowers.
According to the meteorological department, snowfall is expected in Murree, Neelam, Haveli, Astur and Hazara on Wednesday evening.
Rain is expected in Makran coastal belt and Sindh province with strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the meteorological department, the temperature in Sindh and Balochistan will remain at 3 to 5 degrees.
